Keith Ellison Recognized as Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action

MINNESOTA – Congressman Keith Ellison was recognized today as a Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action in his campaign for Minnesota Attorney General. The distinction recognizes Ellison’s long record of standing up for common sense measures to reduce gun violence in Minnesota and throughout our country.

“I am honored to be a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate, as we work to reduce gun violence and save lives in Minnesota,” said Ellison. “As your Attorney General, I will ensure Minnesota is a leader in preventing gun violence, fighting for common sense measures to keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of criminals and those who pose a risk to themselves or to others.”

As Attorney General, Ellison will fight for laws that require criminal background checks for all gun sales, and for a ban of the sale of assault weapons and large capacity magazines. Ellison will also work to keep guns out of the hands of people who pose a risk to themselves or to others, including domestic violence offenders. Ellison will stand with the Attorneys General of 17 other states to fight bad federal legislation that would undermine Minnesota’s ability to establish and enforce state measures to reduce gun violence.
