ELLISON CAMPAIGN MOMENTUM GROWS WITH STRONG Q1 FUNDRAISING AND NEW ENDORSEMENTS
MINNESOTA – Today, Attorney General Keith Ellison announced his campaign raised $145,848 in the first quarter of the year, bringing the total to $540,931 this election cycle. As a candidate that signed on to the public subsidy agreement, Ellison’s reelection campaign is now three-quarters of the way towards raising the $725,800 for the spending cap.
Campaign Manager Jeanne Stuart said, “We know that Republicans are prepared to bring in massive amounts of special interest and corporate money to buy this election. We’re proud Keith Ellison’s campaign is fueled by real people, not the gun lobby or pharmaceutical industry. We’re focused on building a massive grassroots organizing effort that ensures Keith’s re-election and supports DFLers up and down the ticket.”
Attorney General Ellison continues to consolidate significant support from key advocacy groups, including Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund, End Citizens United, Collective PAC, and labor unions such as MN AFL-CIO, SEIU MN State Council, and the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees’ (MAPE) Political Action Committee.
“Attorney General Ellison has a decades-long record of standing up for workers and their families. For the past three years as Attorney General, he fought for those same values by protecting consumers and tenants from predatory behavior and prosecuting numerous wage theft cases,” MAPE President Megan Dayton said.
Groups are lining up to endorse Attorney General Keith Ellison early in the race because they agree he delivers on his promises. Keith has been working hard as the people's lawyer to address crime, holding the most violent criminals to account, and ensuring that people are protected from price gouging, utility rate hikes, workers from wage theft, and seniors from nursing home scams.
